Poop! Ewww!

No, don’t say “Ewww.” Ask, “Whose poop is that?” This simple and charming board book adaptation asks this question about seven examples of animal poop. By investigating visual clues, young readers can learn to identify the animal through its droppings. For instance, find a sample of poop with bits of bone and tufts of hair. Turn the page to learn it came from a fox!

Kelsey Oseid’s illustrations are both accurate and beautiful.

Backmatter includes further information about the poop and what scientists can learn from an animal’s droppings.

School Library Journal

A grossly entertaining guessing game that is sure to captivate young readers. This title centers on poop, challenging readers to identify which animal each type of scat belongs to. Whose poop is that? It has a bunch of splinters in it./ A pandas. A panda eats mostly bamboo. A panda has to spend most of its day eating to get enough energy. Clear digital illustrations strike the perfect balance, providing just enough detail without being overly graphic. The back matter adds educational value, explaining how poop benefits soil while also reminding kids to avoid touching it. VERDICT Guaranteed to be a hit with kids fascinated by the natural world, this is a recommended purchase for most libraries.
